Department: Zoology
Research topics: Paleontology and Evolutionary Biology (Macroevolution)
Research: My research interests can be divided into two main components. The first one, focused on Taxonomy and Systematics, aims to describe the extinct reptile diversity, focused mostly on Crocodylomorpha. For that, I do fieldwork to prospect reptile fossils, which leads to morphological descriptions and phylogenetics analyses. The other component is focused on describing macroevolutionary trends, either phenotypic evolution or diversification dynamics. Without a clear taxonomic constraint, I have worked on different systems (usually animal) to characterize deep-time patterns of evolution using quantitative approaches.
