Nosso grupo usa uma abordagem interdisciplinar para estudar a biologia de células-tronco nos contextos fisiológico e patológico, bem como suas potenciais aplicações terapêuticas. Nosso interesse científico atual está na interface com o câncer, com foco nos mecanismos genéticos e moleculares envolvidos na aquisição do fenótipo de células-tronco cancerosas e sua contribuição à heterogeneidade e agressividade tumoral, bem como a relevância de células-tronco ao microambiente tumoral.

Our research group uses an interdisciplinary approach to study stem cell biology in the context of physiological and pathological processes, as well as potential therapeutic applications. Our current scientific interest is the interplay with cancer, with emphasis on the genetic and molecular mechanisms inducing a stem cell-like phenotype in cancer cells, their role in tumor heterogeneity and aggressiveness, and the contribution of stem cells to the tumor microenvironment.
