Research Focus




The Department of Botany has a long-standing tradition in research and training students, leading the way in diverse areas of plant biology, including systematics and biogeography, plant anatomy and morphology, phytochemistry, genetics, genomics and molecular biology and physiology.
The faculty of the Department of Botany is formed by 25 professors, organized in 10 laboratories to develop ground-breaking research in the following major areas:
